The Friends of the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens welcome new volunteers at any time. The team of volunteers is growing each week and it’s a wonderful way to meet new people and enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the NSW North Coast rainforest.
Volunteers are required to join the Friends for insurance purposes, but there is no need to have previous experience in gardening or rainforests. It’s a good way to learn how to create and maintain your own native Australian garden, to learn about the Big Scrub and the original vegetation of the Northern Rivers.
There are many ways to contribute. So come along on Wednesday mornings from 8 am to 11 am or on the last Sunday of the month from 9 am to 11 am. Enjoy the ambiance of the Gardens, morning tea and a chat.
On Tuesday mornings the propagation team is in the nursery from 9 am to 11am. No experience necessary, just an interest in learning to look after young plants.
