Volunteering

The Friends of the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens welcome new volunteers at any time. The team of volunteers is growing each week and it’s a wonderful way to meet new people and enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the NSW North Coast rainforest.

Volunteers are required to join the Friends for insurance purposes, but┬áthere is no need to have previous experience in gardening or rainforests. It’s a good way to learn how to create and maintain your own native Australian garden, to learn about the Big Scrub and the original┬ávegetation of the Northern Rivers.

There are many ways to contribute. So come along on Wednesday mornings from 8 am to 11 am or on the last Sunday of the month from 9 am to 11 am. Enjoy the ambiance of the Gardens, morning tea and a chat.

On Tuesday mornings the propagation team is in the nursery from 9 am to 11am. No experience necessary, just an interest in learning to look after young plants.
