Come along at from 9.15 am to 1 pm on Sunday 23rd March to spend the morning with some of our volunteers, look around the Gardens and find out what you can do to help the Friends to manage and maintain this beautiful part of Lismore. Meet at the Visitors Centre at the Gardens (313 Wyrallah Rd, East Lismore) Turn first right after entering the waste facility entrance off Wyrallah Road. Morning tea provided.
Some of the jobs we need people to do are welcoming visitors at the Visitors Centre, publishing and website maintenance, archival organisation in the office, weeding team, guiding team (training available), nursery propagation, construction of seats, bridges, shed, maintenance of signs and equipment, newsletter editing, planning for Open Days and special events, botanical identification and data base maintenance, fertilising, path repairs, ......
Our volunteers are a happy and productive team. We'd love to see you on Wedesdays from 8 am to 11 am or have you help us behind the scenes if you prefer.
NO TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE NEEDED. YOU WILL LEARN ON THE JOB. WE ONLY HAVE NATIVE PLANTS ENDEMIC TO WITHIN 200 KMS OF LISMORE, SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LEARN ABOUT OUR BEAUTIFUL RAINFOREST PLANTS AS YOU HELP.
$10 for one year's membership to cover insurance with Lismore City Council. Wear long pants and sleeves and a hat. Each week you bring your water and morning tea.
